Games, food, prizes and fun are all things students can expect at Casino Night on Feb. 3 from 7-11 p.m. – but what exactly is it? Here’s what you can expect, Hayleigh Yeoh reports.
Tonight’s Casino Night is hosted by DAWGS (Doing Activities with Great Spirit), the campus’ social affairs club dedicated to promoting student involvement and event planning on campus. While this won’t be the university’s first Casino Night, it’s the first time it will be hosted by the club. But what can students expect?
“Students will receive tokens, and in the main room of Orton there’ll be a bunch of different game tables,” says DAWGS co-leader Enrique Alverde. “Students will be able to play the games with the tokens they have.”
Games include card games such as blackjack, poker, bingo and a room dedicated to esports.
Students who play bingo can win prizes or chips and winners of other games will receive tokens. At the end of the evening, tokens can be exchanged for tickets. These can be used to bid on prizes in a silent auction. The event is free to attend, and will be from 7-11pm in the Orton Center.
Students 21 and older who have valid IDs will also be allowed to get drinks from a bar run by Harvest Table. A section of the building will also be devoted to food for everyone to enjoy.
