The University of Redlands Choir will be putting on two concerts this weekend showcasing excerpts from Gabriel Fauré’s magnum opus “Requiem op. 48.”
The first performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on March 28 at Memorial Chapel. The University Choir will be joined by professional soloists Ali Rose Hotz and Connor Licharz as well as the Community Choir of Redlands (CCR). Ömer Kayhan, a visiting lecturer in the Conservatory of Music who is leading these concerts, said that such community collaboration is an important focus for the university’s music department. He also pointed out that the CCR is conducted by Redlands alumni Jamison Stevens ‘24, which displays the trust the music department has in the education they provide.
“Creating and investing in collaborations with our alumni is a testament to the strong relationship we harbor with our students,” Kayhan said.
A second performance will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at the First Presbyterian Church in Redlands. It will feature student soloists as well as alumni Philip Hoch ‘16, ‘18 on the organ.

With free admission for both concerts, Kayhan encourages people to attend and experience the musical talent of Redlands students and community members. For more information about concerts and other artistic productions, visit the School of Performing Arts’ Events Services website.
