The organization WRW, “Wadada Wa Rengi Wangi” has claimed the first week of April as “Take a Stand Week” dedicating their time to spreading awareness and educating the public on sexual violence.
The people of WRW invite members of the Redlands community to Take Back the Night, an international march against sexual assault and domestic violence on Thursday, April 5, at 7 p.m. The march will begin at the chapel steps where the deputy title IX coordinator, Erica Moorer, will speak to the group. After her speech, marchers will walk through Market Night on State St. and back to the chapel.

As part of “Take a Stand Week,” WRW has displayed plastic cups in Hunsaker Plaza to show the Department of Justice statistics that 19% of women and 6% of men will be sexually assaulted some time in their four years of college.
As an organization dedicated to spreading awareness, WRW hopes that Take Back the Night will create discussion about sexual assault within the Redlands community.
