Amidst the tentative plans of what spring 2021 semester looks like for University of Redlands staff and students, the cancellation of spring study abroad programs, and a growing list of virtual university-hosted events, U of R Homecoming weekend is following suit of adapting to the times and will be going virtual for 2020.
U of R Homecoming 2020 will be hosted on Saturday, Oct. 24, and features a variety of virtual speakers, events, and activities for students and alumni alike. Club and organization meet-ups will create space for alumni reconnection, university student theatre productions will be hosted via Zoom, Drag Bingo hosted by U of R Pride Center offers a classic bingo experience with a fun (and educational) twist, and much more — all from a distance.
In addition to student and alumni-run events and activities, the university will be hosting two featured convocation speakers.
From 3:00-4:00 p.m., you can tune into mental health speaker and best-selling author Mike Veny’s convocation “on staying positive through various ages and challenges throughout life.”
And from 4:00-5:00 p.m., you can join Professor Janee Both-Gragg in “Coping with Covid” for a convocation speaker debrief and a discussion led by MGSA member Natalie Carlson.
