TOP GIRLS COMES TO REDLANDS: YES, THERE IS A GLASS CEILING

Tickets are available for the Theatre Arts Department’s play Top Girls at the Glenn Wallichs theatre, was shown last weekend and is showing next weekend. Next Weekend’s performances are Friday the 23rd at 8 PM, Saturday the 24th at 8 PM, and Sunday the 24th at 2 PM.

Top Girls is a play about women from various eras of history coming together in 1980s Britain for a party, at the height of the Margaret Thatcher gov’t in the U.K This relevant story is making an impact in 2018, just as it did when it first premiered in 1982 as it explores intersectional identities of gender and class.

Written by Caryl Churchill in the 1980s, it’s performed by students at the U of R and directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg. From what is being said from theatre students, there is not a figurative glass ceiling involved in the production, but a literal glass ceiling is present on stage with the performers.

There are three more chances in total to see the play, don’t miss out. Tickets for students are $8, tickets for non-students are $12.
