The Hunting Ground

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, there will be a screening of “The Hunting Ground” in Orton Center at 6 p.m.

This documentary was written and directed by Academy Award nominated and two-time Emmy Award winner, Kirby Dick, and released in January 2015.

Dick is most known for “The Invisible War” (2012), a documentary that focuses on the existence of rape in the US military.

The campus screening of this film was put together by The Graduate Department of Leadership & Counseling in partnership with the Center for Educational Justice.

The purpose of “The Hunting Ground” is to explore the occurrences of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, how individual institutions deal with the crimes, and what kind of impact they have on students.

There will be a panel discussion directly following this free film screening.

A trailer for the film can be viewed on the official website.
