Study away is a popular opportunity many students at the University of Redlands enjoy. With a history dating back several decades, there are many different ways students can take the chance to travel the world. One of these ways, popular with those who don\u2019t want to spend a whole semester away from campus, is a May Term trip.\u00a0 This year\u2019s Fall 2025 May Term Study Away Fair was hosted in the Casa Loma room from 6-7pm on Sept. 18, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair provided a chance for students to meet the professors leading the various May Term travel courses available for the year and ask any questions they had about the trip. It also gave professors an opportunity to gauge student interest and adjust roster lists accordingly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some options students could sign up for included a photography and art trip to Italy, a health and medicine-based trip to South Africa, and a political science trip to Washington D.C. There were also two trips to the university\u2019s Salzburg campus, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary of operation this year. One trip that was offered focused on psychology and the other on historical cinema. A table for those interested in study away scholarships was also at the fair.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 50% of Redlands students study away, whether it be for a semester or a May term. The trips are great opportunities to travel and be immersed in another culture or conduct further study in various fields. While May Term trips are generally led by professors, students can also take solo trips during the year or do a Salzburg semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
