The MetroLink will also be providing free rides on all of its lines during Clean Air Day, which was arranged by the California Clean Air Day organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur goals with this week are to provide people information about the conditions they\u2019re living in, increase awareness, and offer solutions to the issue of air pollution,\u201d SEA Club President Sienna Hepworth said. \u201cAdditionally, we want to increase REAL change and awareness happening on campus, as well as get more people involved with SEA Club!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not everyone shares the same level of interest in environmental issues, but as Hepworth points out, such issues have an impact on everyone – even more so in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKnowledge about air pollution, especially in California, is so critical,\u201d She said. \u201cAlthough we think of California as a cutting edge state, in fact seven of the ten most ozone polluted cities in the US are in California! It\u2019s so important that people know about the dangers of air pollution, and how they can do their part to diminish it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hepworth, a sophomore from Coeur d\u2019Alene, Idaho, is double majoring in Environmental Studies and Geographical Information Systems.
