Holiday Season in Redlands

Holiday Season in Redlands

Christmas time is here! Holiday music is playing on all the radio stations, houses are being decorated with lights, and people are shopping for presents! Christmas is the best time of year to worship, celebrate, shop, and give back to the local community. Here are four events, here in the city of Redlands, that will get you in the spirit!

1.) Feast of Lights
Come to Memorial Chapel on any night at 8pm until Monday December 5th to enjoy the 69th annual celebration of the Feast of Lights. The Feast of Light is a traditional music-based community event open to friends, family, community members and students.

Tickets for the Feast of Lights performance are $5 for University of Redlands students, $10 for all other students, $15 for seniors over the age of 65 and $25 for the rest of the general public.
Tickets for this event will be sold in the Hunsaker University center and online. (A 2.50$ service fee will apply on all tickets) Call 909.748.8011 to reserve your tickets!

3.) Tree Lighting
The Kimberly Crest House & Gardens will host its annual tree lighting ceremony on Sunday Dec 04 at 04:00 pm. The local choir will sing Christmas carols and there will be complimentary apple cider by Riley’s at Los Rios Ranch and ginger cookies by Mrs. Shirk. Come stop by for a 2 hour festive evening of caroling, eating, celebrating and taking pictures with Santa. After the tree lighting at 6pm, there will be $5 tours of the Kimberly Crest house’s first floor!

4.) Redland’s Fine Art and Craft Boutique

The event will feature many handmade gifts such as jewelry and candles. All of the event’s profit  will go directly back to the YMCA’s Legal Aid Program. This is a perfect place to buy unique gifts for your friends and family!

5.) Christmas Block Party
The holidays are a great time to give back to your community and help others experience a wonderful holiday season.  The annual Christmas Block Party assists low income families by providing them with presents for their children. This event is sponsored by the Redlands Police Department and the City of Redlands Quality of Life Department

The 19th annual Christmas Block Party will take place on Saturday, December 10th, from 10am to noon, at the Redlands Community Center (111. W.Lugonia Ave. Redlands, CA 92373) In preparation for the event, the hosts are currently having a toy drive. If you are interesting in donating unwrapped toys for children ages 4-12, please drop off toys at the Redlands Community Center or Redlands Police Department (1270 W. Park Ave. Redlands, CA 92373)
