Barbara Boxer will Speak on April 4

As a part of the ASUR convocations and Lectures Spring Political Series, Barbara Boxer will be speaking at 7 p.m on Tuesday April 4 at the University of Redlands Chapel.  For the past 33 years, Barbara Boxer has represented the State of California. She served as a Representative for the 6th district of California for 10 years and served 4 terms as a California State Senator. She is a strong advocate for environmental protection and has led efforts in Congress to protect California’s coast from offshore drilling. She has dedicated her work to improve the environment and battle climate change. As a member of the Democratic leadership in the Senate, Boxer served as the chief Deputy Whip from 2005-2016. She has written bipartisan legislation to combat global HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. Senator Boxer will be the final speaker in our Spring Poltical Series.

    Kristen Sauceda is currently a freshman at the University of Redlands. She is a 2016 Hunsaker Scholar who works as a research assistant for two English professors. She is the social media coordinator for the newspaper and the convocation and lectures committee. Kristen is interested in reading literature , writing poetry, learning about history, playing her flute, traveling the world and discussing politics. She is double majoring in Public Policy and Political Science. She wants to make Education Policy at the Federal or State Level. She wants to improve the public education system to benefit the teachers and the students.
